200-ЛЕТИЕ ЭГИТУЙСКОГО ДАЦАНА
В ДОКЛАДАХ МЕЖДУНАРОДНОГО НАУЧНОГО ФОРУМА

В статье даны сведения о значимом событии в жизни Республики Бурятия – Международном научном форуме «Эгитуйский дацан: история и современность», прошедшем в рамках праздничных мероприятий к 200-летию дацана. Как известно, в нем находится святыня Зандан Жуу (Сандаловый Будда), единственная прижизненная статуя Будды Шакьямуни – объект почитания и поклонения бурят и монголов и в целом буддистов всего мира. Поэтому тематика истории ее создания, формирования культа поклонения, многих перемещений и последующего появления на бурятской земле так или иначе затрагивалась во многих докладах участников форума.

200TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EGITUYSKY DATSAN
IN THE REPORTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC FORUM

The article is devoted to a significant event in the life of the society of the Republic of Buryatia. This event is the international scientific forum “Egituysky Datsan: History and Modernity”, which took place as part of the festive events for the 200th anniversary of the Datsan. This Buddhist monastery is home to the Zandan Zhuu (Sandalwood Buddha), the only living statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, which is revered and worshipped by the Mongolian world and Buddhists around the globe. Therefore, the history of the statueʼs creation, the formation of a cult of worship, its many relocations, and its subsequent appearance on the land of Buryatia were somehow addressed in many of the forum participantsʼ reports.
