E-mail: bazar75@mail.ru.<\/p>\n<p>The article consists of two parts: the first part examines the first written information about the Khamnigans, dating back to 1636; it analyzes the data about the Khamnigan group led by Yelei; it suggests a possible meeting point between the Khamnigans and the Manchu-Mongolian detachment near the Unda River; and it presents the Solon legend about Lei-Mergen, whose name is very similar to Yelei.
